GRRR!! Stupid encoding! Announcing 3.2.1.5

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

Not again!

sv-SE has been encoded incorrectly, causing ThunderBrowse not to function on Thunderbird with the language set to sv-SE (Swedish).

Instead of me making another ugly version number, I’m going to to add the fix in the next version, 3.2.1.5 (few fixes are added).

Here are the changes:

  • Added View Source context menu
  • Fixes sv-SE bug
  • Search box gains focus when Ctrl F is pressed
  • Fixes a bug with GET forms (this was added late in 3.2.1.4 but never mentioned anywhere)
  • Somewhat support for Spicebird (partially, in my tests with the recent Spicebird build, I couldn’t get any extensions to install)

I’m uploading this to AMO soon.

3.2.1.4 is now available on AMO for download.

Finally, 3.2.1.4 uploaded to AMO

I used an online translation for the pt-BR locale, but I was unable to successfully translate the urlbar.properties file.

We now have Romanian language support (I’m really getting tired of locale file encodings).

I’ve also double checked pt-BR and ro-RO and have fixed both of them so that we avoid any problems.

New homepage!

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

Hooray!

ThunderBrowse now has a new homepage that’s a lot cleaner and neater than the old version. I spent today jquerying and rewriting the old and new websites so they share the same data all the time.

Hope you like it!

3.2.1.4 almost there!

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

We have one more language to be completed and then the new version will release. Several fixes have been added since the last post, so here’s a quick list:

  1. Tabs respond to commands and shortcuts (they used to say that the command was invalid)
  2. A small fix has been added to POST forms so forms without an action attribute will load in ThunderBrowse (originally it only worked with forms that had a space as the action attribute value)
  3. Moving some files and functions around
  4. about:extensions is no longer a recognized command (no one seemed to use it and it was taking up space to define)
  5. The changelog has been archived even more than before.

Also, ThunderBrowse’s 1 year anniversary is on 5/25. I’ll probably change the startpage and the homepage and add some confetti or something. It would be really neat if people donated on that day, it’s kinda like a birthday for me (that sounds really nerdish, lol).

Speaking of changing the homepage, I’ve been working on a new homepage that looks so much better and fits in with the new logo.
