Announcing 3.2.4

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

Yes, I’ve passed my senior project stuff, so I don’t have to wait forever to release this next build. 3.2.4 contains a lot of fixes that were going to be included in 3.2.3, but were not.

Changes in ThunderBrowse 3.2.4 include:

  1. Fix for startup errors
  2. History encoding (urls will not break on commas)
  3. TBHistory reorganization + rewrite
  4. Start page error fix on TB3.0b2pre
  5. Bookmarks encoding (should fix a lot of errors)
  6. ThunderMenu location fix
  7. Browser ids (this allows Ctrl F to work if the Thunderbird bug was fixed)

I have no idea if this will include any other bug fixes. I doubt it right now, but if I could get Sandboxie to install TB3.0b3pre, then I would be able to test for other bugs. I’m sorry if you are having troubles with TB3.0b3pre, but if I could figure out what exactly is causing the problem, I would be glad to fix it.

A Different Perspective: Reviews

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Every now and then, I receive a very vague review stating that ThunderBrowse is “bad”. The reviewer never explains why it’s “bad” or what problems they were having. It’s just “bad”. I recently have received one of these reviews and felt like yelling at the person. But instead of doing that, I thought that maybe some people don’t understand how to review. Hopefully, this post will to shine some light on some new reviewing tips and what it’s like to be on the receiving end of such criticism.

Downtime

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Sorry about that. We had about 2 hours of downtime due to some mismatched permissions caused by a server upgrade. Me and my hosting company have fixed everything that was affected by the update.

Sorry about the unexpected downtime. Everything should be working just fine, let me know if this is different for you.

Have a nice day!
