"And they were singing, Bye bye this here site guy..."

I updated the homepage today (just in case you managed to see all the errors during transition) with some new features.

The first thing I did is added noscript friendliness, meaning if you have javascript off you can still browse the site. I also made it more SEO friendly with direct linked files that will work with jQuery tabs. The sidebar has been updated and I repositioned some items as well.

I also removed the very first ThunderBrowse site as it is not needed anymore and no one goes there anyways (just like Ravenholm).

So that’s pretty much it, just a lot of backend work on the site.

You can install addons from AMO again

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

AMO changed the way they serve up addons to ones that expose a full path to the addon (causing ThunderBrowse to recogize the type). Before, the addons would just point to urls that would cause the addon to be downloaded but not cause an install window to appear.

This has been fixed. Hooray!

Also, if you happen to use Personas for Thunderbird, you can apply personas from ThunderBrowse as well.

ThunderBrowse 3.2.4 released

Version 3.2.4 is now availible on AMO. YES!

Delays, Delays, Delays

Friday, April 10th, 2009

Let me be upfront: I hate delays.

I recently uploaded an uncorrupted version of the extension only to be denied as ThunderBrowse doesn’t object wrap all its functions (HORRORS!). So I spent the last 2-3 hours doing that (you would not believe how much I hate object wrapping and in the end it’s very redundant thanks to backwards compatibility [which I include]). I’ve uploaded another new version of 3.2.4 to AMO and hopefully now it will be pushed to public.

In other news: I’m just as annoyed and angry as you probably are about the delays. However, while wrapping objects I did find a couple of really old bugs that I had missed. Those are fixed now.

First version of 3.2.4 is corrupted on Linux

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Sorry about the release of 3.2.4 today. I was unaware that I zipped it using IZArc (proven to create corrupted zip files for Linux [and sometimes on Windows]) instead of using the native Windows zipper.

I’m very very sorry about this. Last night I was tired and since the two menu items are so close to each other, I accidently missed the thing I meant to click.

No worries as I’ve uploaded the version that is not corrupted.

As I stated before, I’m deeply sorry about this problem.
