ThunderBrowse 3.2.6.5 Released

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

ThunderBrowse 3.2.6.5 is now available on AMO. I also just bumped the compatibility number from tb3.0b4pre to tb3.0b4 (I’ve yet to officially test the changes [I'm sick and I'm busy with other work] but it should work just fine [if not, submit a bug report please]).

Remember to try out the tabs build.

ThunderBrowse 3.2.6.5 and other updates

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

If you use ThunderBrowse on Postbox, you might notice that it doesn’t work anymore and the tabs build is just as broken.

Here’s what happened: Postbox developers changed how the message pane is displayed. This seems to be a reoccurring theme in Thunderbird (and messenger in general) development land.

Anyways, I fixed the problem in ThunderBrowse 3.2.6.5 and for good measure, I threw in some context based items into the special context menu for links. I’ve also included the fix in the new tabs build. TB3 Tabs for Postbox is not possible at the moment. Do not attempt to install the tabs build on Postbox. The registration flag is either not the same or not available (I didn’t have time to check).

I’ve uploaded the new tabs build (the link is the same as before) and I just uploaded 3.2.6.5 to AMO. I also fixed a small wizard bug for Postbox if you used a sandboxed copy.

3.2.6.4 is now on AMO. And….IT’S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY!!!!!! HOOOOOOOORAY!

Additions to 3.2.6.4

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

I just pulled version 3.2.6.4 from AMO in order to add a few more bug fixes to the version.

This is what has been changed:

  • You can use the enter button on textareas again
  • Enter button now includes the submit button in the POST and GET requests (because it didn’t before).
  • onSubmit now has a fail code added to it so that it will submit the form anyways even if the onSubmit code fails.
  • The pref for onSubmit has now been removed because of the above point.
  • Various other fixes.

Announcing ThunderBrowse 3.2.6.4

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

Hello again!

Many users have informed me of bugs in the new click engine, which is totally awesome because I very rarely get feedback about most new features and about ThunderBrowse in general.

So here’s ThunderBrowse 3.2.6.4, a new version that fixes a lot (if not all) of the bugs introduced in 3.2.6.2. Granted, these are all the bugs that I know of that have been reported by users.

Here’s what has changed:

  • onSubmit is now an opt-in feature (because it’s beta and doesn’t work extremely well). If you want to use onSubmit, go to about:config and change extensions.tbrowse.onsubmiton to true. I suggest you create a custom button if you are going to be using this feature a lot.
  • Wizard tab options have been fixed.
  • Fixed conflicts with extensions that use gestures.
  • Fixed settings not saving in the Settings window.
  • Made external-default reset to true on uninstall.

Very few other things have been changed.

Summer of Funding is still going well but it looks like Thunderbird 3 tabs is the only thing going into 3.2.7, which isn’t a bad thing.
