ThunderBrowse 3.8 uploaded

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

First, notice how I didn’t say released.

Second, we are skipping 3.7 (3.8 has all the fixes + more of 3.7) because the Mozilla reviewers told us that reuploading makes it more annoying to change the review flag.

Third, it’s uploaded and you can go check it out on the preview channel.

It is currently pending review at AMO, and when they review it, it will be released (provided it passes their tests)

EDIT: I’ve just reuploaded it with fixes for the messagepane scrolling.

Announcing ThunderBrowse 3.7

Friday, July 8th, 2011

Man, check out that statusbar.

Fixed it. I’d like to thank Mark for the tip.

Here’s the change log:

  • Fixed all compatibility issues with the new addon manager
  • Fixed the malformed statusbar
  • Fixed unknown about:addons bug
  • Fixed XUL buttons being interpreted as forms

In other news, I’m considering dropping the in app changelog and the ThunderBrowse new page as they are a chore to update. Does anyone use these? If there is a lot of usage for them, I’ll keep them in.

I’ll be uploading this soon.

Cheers!

Announcing ThunderBrowse 3.3.5

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

So I finally had a bit of time to update ThunderBrowse, it’s not a huge update but it will fix a couple of bugs that users have brought up. I’m working on a game at the moment, so the update is a bit sparse.

  1. Added compatibility for Postbox 2.1 and up
  2. Fixed bookmarks slowness
  3. Fixed inability to use bookmarks menu after choosing a menu item
  4. Fixed uninstaller bugs with disabling
  5. Updated uninstaller to work with newer versions of Gecko (the extension manager interface we used is being/has been removed)
  6. Fixed problems with plugins
  7. Speed up ThunderBrowse startup (removed the incompatible extension check as it’s not needed anymore)
  8. Updated locales
  9. General bug fixes

I’m uploading this version to AMO right now.

In addition, I would like to ask if anyone is using CS Lite still. I know it has to hook into a cookies interface (like the one that I copied from Firefox), but if no one is using it anymore, I would like to remove the tbcookies.js file as it’s a rather large file. If you are using ThunderBird 3, this should not apply to you.

Also, I’ve been receiving reports that TB2 tabs will cause RSS feeds to stop displaying. I’ve been unable to reproduce this bug, so if anyone has this happening to them with this version, please let me know (also include the RSS feed that you are having problems with [I only need one]).

3.3.3 and Email reading bugs

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

I’ve gotten several reports that users have not been able to read their emails while using the NM version of tabs. The workaround is to not use the TB3[NM] version of tabs and instead just use TB3 tabs until the fix is released.

The fix has already been uploaded to AMO.

Announcing ThunderBrowse 3.3.3

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

Notice: This post was written waaaaaay back in August.

So during the downtime between hosts, I did a couple of modifications to ThunderBrowse to improve it and add some new stuff. And because everything is better in list form, here you go:

  • Improvements in favicon handling
  • Fixed the invalid host name error
  • Added tab browsing support to the popup window
  • Improved page loading code
  • Improved event handling
  • Fixed issues with links not capturing in events
  • Fixed chrome content issues
  • Popups now load into tabs (this is highly experimental [to tell you the truth, this was the by product of improving the loading code]). This might not always work, and I don’t plan on making popups permanently load in tabs.
  • General improvements
  • Fixed email bar problems
  • Updated compatibility support. Postbox 2 now works.

I’ve just uploaded this version to AMO and I predict it will be approved soon. From here on out, expect sparse updates for ThunderBrowse, for reasons I mentioned in my last post.
