Checking ThunderBrowse Versions
Some features in ThunderBrowse only work in certain versions. There are couple few people who use an earlier version of ThunderBrowse, so it’s important to check what is and what isn’t available in each version. Luckily, ThunderBrowse allows developers to grab important platform information easily. This is handy if you want to check the ThunderBrowse version the user has in order to see if you can use a particular function.
To do so, you can call
getThunderBrowseVersion() which will return the current version in a string format. This function is available in versions 184.108.40.206 and up. Using this you can do a string or convert it to an int and compare it that way.
Additionally, if you call
getTBVersion() it will return the user’s Thunderbird version number [220.127.116.11 and above].
